It offers equivalent efficacy and can be used at the same concentration, without the need for listed preservatives. Caprylyl glycol, a known potentiating agent, acts as a "gateway" into the microbial cell for other antimicrobials, in this case, phenethyl alcohol. Phenethyl alcohol interferes with both the cell membrane of microorganisms and vital enzymes within the cell, leading to their elimination.

Applications:

pH-independent preservative blend, suitable for surfactant-based formulations and emulsions. In aqueous formulations, the use of solubilizers or glycols is necessary.
