Evicide® EHG is a colorless and virtually odorless liquid composed of the well-known preservative enhancer ethylhexylglycerin. This raw material offers multiple functions, its primary use being as a preservative enhancer.

Benefits:

Many antimicrobial agents, such as phenoxyethanol, organic acids, or metal ions, need to penetrate the cells of microorganisms to exert their preservative function. Evicide® EHG facilitates this process: the molecular structure of ethylhexylglycerin allows it to alter the bacterial cell membrane, thus improving the permeability of other antimicrobial agents.

Applications:

Thanks to this mechanism, Evicide® EHG can be used in a wide variety of formulations, such as emulsions, sunscreens or surfactant systems, including shampoos. Related to its antimicrobial enhancing function, this ingredient is also used as a deodorant active.
