Evicide® GML, of plant origin, is among the first active ingredients discovered and used as preservative enhancers and in alternative preservation systems. A true oldie but goldie.

Evicide® GML is a 100% natural, multifunctional ingredient with a well-known antimicrobial effect, used for decades in alternative preservation systems. Unlike other surfactant-based antimicrobials, Evicide® GML does not affect the stability of emulsions and is very gentle on the skin. With a 90% monoester content, it is a highly concentrated ingredient that allows for excellent formulation results. In addition to its function as a preservative enhancer, it has other very interesting properties, such as its co-emulsifying capacity and its thickening effect in sulfate-free surfactant systems.

Applications:

Evicide® GML can be added to both the aqueous and oil phases and requires melting at approximately 40–45 °C. Mix thoroughly before incorporating the oil phase and proceeding with the homogenization process. In emulsions, it acts as a homogenization accelerator, helping the main emulsifiers to organize more rapidly at the interface. Its enhancing effect is compatible with any preservative system and helps reduce the overall preservative load in the formulation.
